Flight 6543 from London to Munich departed from Gate 10c so we had to take a bus to the plane. The plane was at another terminal so the ride took about 7 minutes. It was an interesting experience because before the first bus would leave, they wanted to make sure that the entire plane had checked in. So those of us who had boarded the first bus were crammed in like sardines.
One proper English gentleman was a little put out, disembarked the bus and approached the driver, "I say, it's rather hot in here and there's no air conditioning. The bus is full, can we leave for the plane?" Totally cracked me up, he reminded me of a cross between Inspector Clouseau and Austin Powers. When he got back on the bus, he excused his behavior and was quite apologetic, "Pardon me, I'm a bit of a trouble maker." But it must have worked because we left about 1 minute later.
Which brings me to the expression "I say" is this the equivalent of "Excuse me?"
was completely full.
will update in Heathrow, need to board now.
