When I use my border punches I'm always left with thin strips of paper which I normally just throw away. Today I decided to use them for a fun project!
1. So gather your supplies: some leftover paper from your Crop Addict April 2011 Monthly Scrapbooking Kit (I used leftover Jillibean Soup), a borderpunch, a thin paintbrush, a heart template, letterstickers, black pen, some beads and liquid glue.
2. Choose one of the leftovers to act as the base for your card and another to punch a border with your border punch. Make sure you save the scraps after punching, especially the thin strip of paper!
3. Adhere the borders to the top and bottom of your card and draw a heart in the middle of your card. Take the thin strip of paper you have left after punching the border just now and roll this around the back end of your thin paint brush:
4. As at this moment we don’t have enough thin strip leftovers from punching you have to trim the rest of the strips with your trimmer. Cut about 15 strips 0.25”x12” and about 15 strips 0.25”x6”.
5. Use liquid glue to adhere them inside the heart you drew:
6. Add some beads while the glue is still “wet”:
7. Fill the whole heart, add the title and some of the other leftover scraps from punching:
8. Use your black pen to draw a thin striped/dotted line around the heart and you’re done!
9. This is what your card looks from the side:
10. And here all the pics composed in one if you want to save it to your computer:
This is it! Hope you love the result!
Happy crafting!
